Our in-house team of experts is known for delivering innovative, practical solutions to a wide range of complex environmental challenges.
Our main office is located in the Point Richmond Marina in the San Francisco Bay Area. Set along a scenic waterfront, it offers views of sailboats, the marina, and San Francisco. We’re just minutes from historic downtown Point Richmond and across from a regional park. We also have satellite offices in Berkeley and Petaluma.

Staff Geologist / Geologic Technician
We seek candidates for the position of Staff Geologist including construction inspection. The Staff Geologist will perform field, office, and soils laboratory testing work including Construction Inspection for Public Works projects. The successful applicant will work directly with project level and senior staff performing a variety of duties.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing observations, inspections, and testing services during construction of Public Works, Residential and Commercial projects under the direction of Senior Staff
- Reading and interpreting Plans and Specifications for construction
- Documenting various stages of construction projects
- Managing data entry for testing services
- Performing laboratory testing of soil and bedrock samples for physical properties
- Responsible for coordinating and performing field investigations using a variety of techniques under the direction of Senior Staff
- Researching the background geologic, seismic and soils conditions for a variety of geological environments
- Identifying soil types in accordance with the Unified Soils Classification System
- Identifying general bedrock types
- Collecting soil, rock, groundwater, and surface water samples
- Preparing borehole logs under the direction of Senior Staff
- Preparing field maps identifying locations of relevant features and sample locations
- Preparing written documents using Microsoft Word
- Preparing and editing data tables using Microsoft Excel
Required Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent experience as a Soil Technician
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Required Skills:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented setting
Desired Skills:
- GIS and/or AutoCAD experience
