Staff Geologist/Staff Engineer

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and performing field investigations using a variety of techniques under the direction of Senior Staff
  • Researching the background geologic, seismic and soils conditions for a variety of geological environments
  • Identifying soil types in accordance with the Unified Soils Classification System
  • Identifying bedrock types
  • Collecting soil, rock, groundwater, and surface water samples
  • Preparing borehole logs under the direction of Senior Staff
  • Preparing field maps identifying locations of relevant features and sample locations
  • Preparing written documents using Microsoft Word
  • Preparing and editing data tables using Microsoft Excel
  • Performing laboratory testing of soil and bedrock samples for physical properties
  • Performing geotechnical observations, inspections, and testing services during construction of Public Works, Residential and Commercial projects under the direction of Senior Staff
  • Reading and interpreting Plans and Specifications for construction
  • Documenting various stages of construction projects
  • Managing data entry for testing services


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Engineering or related field
  • Construction related experience a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • GIS and/or AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Ability to work well with others in a team oriented setting

Restoration Engineer

We seek candidates for the position of Restoration Engineer. The focus of the work will be on fluvial engineering projects, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.  Professional emphasis is on design and preparation of construction drawings, and design studies for river and stream restoration, bank stabilization, and fish passage barrier removal engineering.

Qualifications:  EIT or PE, or well-qualified hydrologist, geomorphologist or geologist with strong design background.  Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geologic Sciences with Water Resources or Hydrology/Hydraulics emphasis, 2+ years of experience in an engineering environment, or M.S. degree in related field with practical training/experience in watershed or fluvial processes. The applicant must have competent AutoCAD drafting skills, including the preparation of grading plans, small in-stream structures, and roadway and trail alignments. Must have good writing and communication skills, work independently and as part of design team, and be creative and innovative problem solver.

Civil Engineering Designer/Drafter

We have an immediate opening for experienced Civil Engineering AutoCAD drafting technician. Full-time position providing competitive compensation, benefits, and an attractive work environment.

Responsibilities include providing company-wide drafting and graphics support, and assisting engineers with civil design focused primarily on stream restoration projects, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

Five-plus years of AutoCAD work experience are required.  The candidate needs to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.  Ability to read and understand topographic maps and survey data and work experience preparing general civil engineering drawings is required. Experience with Arc View is helpful.  Applicant must be able to manage and coordinate multiple simultaneous projects while providing good follow-through and attention to detail.

Compensation:  $25 – $35/hour DOQ.
