For the County of Sonoma / Nichols-Berman

Questa was responsible for completing the Water Resources section of the Sonoma County GP 2020 and EIR. The scope of work included: (1) providing information on existing water resources conditions, management needs and management issues; (2) assisting in review of current water policies, and formulation of new policy where existing policy does not meet management needs; and (3) preparing the CEQA document for the Water Resources Element in association with Nichols-Berman. Questa prepared countywide resource GIS maps showing watersheds, floodplains, groundwater basins, and groundwater management problem areas.

Issues addressed in the review and General Plan policy update included: storm water management (infiltration, detention, recharge policies), watershed and groundwater management, well regulations, erosion control and bank stabilization, and water supply, recycling, and conservation.
