Shollenberger
Park, along the Petaluma River shoreline, and Adobe Creek, a principle tributary
of the Petaluma River, provide passive recreation opportunities for people to
hike, cycle, and enjoy the diverse wildlife and shorebirds in the area. Questa
provided design and planning assistance over several phases of the Park's
inception, to improve the habitat along Adobe Creek, create new
freshwater, tidal marsh, and riparian enhancement areas, improve water quality
and circulation, create trails, and provide environmental education
opportunities for park users.
The
project included approximately three miles of trails, three pedestrian bridges,
boardwalks, created wetlands, habitat buffers, fencing, signage, and site
furnishings.
Questa
developed the Concept Plan, CEQA review, and project permitting, prepared
the Plans and Specifications, and oversaw bidding and construction. Our grant
preparation on the City's behalf resulted in over $700,000 for project
implementation, land acquisition, and development of an interpretive guide for
the area. |
