Questa completed a hydrologic and sediment transport study for the Laguna Creek watershed. This project has involved field surveying of over 10 miles of stream channel and inventorying erosion and habitat features. Based on fieldwork and air photo interpretation, a sediment budget was prepared for the watershed that matched predicted watershed sediment yields with channel transport ability. Field inventory data was collected using GPS technology and subsequently input into a GIS database to be used in conjunction with a citywide GIS system. A Watershed Management Plan was then developed, which included conceptual designs for the identified creek/watershed management problems, prioritized issues, and estimated costs.
