Civil Engineer

Responsibilities: Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analyses; preparation and review of bank stabilization and river restoration plans, fish passage barrier removal design, preparation of construction plans and specifications, wetland mitigation plans, drainage studies, and EIR documents; communicating and coordinating with clients; preparing oral and written presentations of project results.

Qualifications: Experience and training in civil engineering, hydrology, and/or hydraulic modeling. Either an MS degree or higher OR two to five years experience with water resources engineering projects. Desirable characteristics include: computational modeling experience with standard hydrology and hydraulic models, experience with ArcView GIS and/or AutoCAD software applications, and familiarity with the California environmental regulatory process. The successful candidate will be strongly motivated, highly capable, and committed to the interactive, working team environment at Questa.

Civil Engineer/Civil Designer-Draftsman

Responsibilities: Major focus of work will be on civil aspects of open space, park, bikeway and trail planning and engineering design, and secondary support of other departments including stream restoration, bank stabilization, fish passage barrier removal and other environmental and water resources oriented projects. Professional emphasis is on trail and bikeway design including associated structures, such as pavement and roadway design, curb ramps, culverts, walls, boardwalks, and pedestrian bridges, and preparation of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates.

Qualifications: PE, or very well qualified designer/draftsman with extensive civil design background. Minimum B.S. in civil engineering and two+ years of design experience, or degree in related field with 5 years practical training/experience in civil design. Good AutoCAD skills (LDD or Civil 3D a plus), along with good writing and communication skills. Must work independently and as part of design team. Creative and innovative problem solving skills.
