Questa
recently developed a Park Master Plan for a 42-acre park and natural area
straddling Cache Creek, near the community of Capay in western Yolo County. The
Master Plan included a trail system, creek restoration, interpretive elements
and signage, an educational pavilion, and visitor- serving facilities, such as
parking, picnic, and shade shelter areas, restrooms, and an outdoor education
area. The utility design work included a 200-gpm well for water supply and
specifications for a two-unit waterless vault restroom facility.
Community
involvement was an important component of the work, and project planning
included facilitating a number of community meetings and design workshops, as
well as completion of a recreational needs survey and the development of
informational flyers posted on the County Website and throughout the community.
Questa worked closely with the Parks, Recreation, and Wildlife Advisory
Committee, the Cache Creek Technical Advisory Committee, and several community
groups, including the Cache Creek Conservancy and Valley Vision, to provide
outreach and customize the design components to fulfill community needs. |
